Air Force Men's Swimming Defeats Grand Canyon, 164-92

PHOENIX, Ariz. - A day after beating Arizona State, the Air Force men's swim team defeated Grand Canyon 164-92 in a dual meet Saturday afternoon at the Dottie Boreyko/Brophy Sports Campus. The Falcons improved to 8-1. Air Force had another strong meet, taking first in 10 of 14 events. A trio of Falcons--senior Benjamin Gunn, junior Corydon Butler and sophomore Paul Youn--led the way for the Falcons with two wins each. Gunn won the 200 yard butterfly (1:53.89) and the 400 individual medley (4:07.98). Butler won the 200 freestyle (1:43.20) and 500 free (4:44.18). Young won the 100 backstroke (53.20) and 200 back (1:53.63). Junior Cody Deacon won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.54 and senior Robert Dawson won the 100 free with a time of 47.53. Junior Nate Roesler won the 100 fly with a time of 52.40. The Falcons also won the 200 medley relay. The group of freshmen Angus MacDonald, Paul Leonhardt, Gunn and sophomore Cole Smith swam a time of 1:35.79. The men's team returns to action Nov. 18-20 at the Arena Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
