Air Force Concludes Competition at Trojan Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Paced by an eighth-place finish from senior David Arlington (Eagle River, Alaska), the Air Force men's and women's diving teams wrapped up competition at the Trojan Diving Invitational, hosted by USC. Saturday's events included the men's 3-meter dive and the women's 1-meter dive.

Arlington was the top performer for the Falcons on the men's 3-meter springboard, placing eighth with a score of 272.00. Arlington advanced to the finals after posting a mark of 277.25 in the preliminaries of the event.

Meanwhile, senior Kyle Van Valkenburg (Tucson, Ariz.) just missed qualifying for the finals, finishing ninth overall with a preliminary score of 268.10. Also competing Saturday morning for the Air Force men was Beau Riebe (Fr., Mercer Island, Wash.), who finished 13th overall with a score of 233.00 in the preliminaries.

Representing the Air Force women was senior Chelsea Tompkins (Grand Junction, Colo.). Tompkins finished 12th overall in the women's 1-meter event, registering a mark of 201.95.

The Air Force divers return to action Nov. 20-22 at the Arizona Diving Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
