CARBONDALE, Ill.- The Air Force men's swimming & diving team split a pair of match-ups against Missouri State and host Southern Illinois Saturday afternoon in the Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium. The Falcons downed SIU 126-115 and lost to Missouri State 167-76. Air Force is now 6-2 on the season.
Sophomore Max Evans-Nolanled AFA, earning the lone first-place finish for the Falcons. Evans-Nolan won the 1000 free with a time of 9:43.62.
The Falcons placed second in the 100 free and 3-meter diving. Senior Tim Martinelli took second in the 100 free with a time of 45.49. Freshman Dominic Vallejoplaced second in the 3-meter diving with 276.75 points.
Air Force had five, third-place finishes. The 400 medley relay of Angus MacDonald, Michael Barnosky, Ryan Dunne and George Frank swam a time of 3:24.44. Vallejo placed third in the 1-meter diving with 268.85 points. Freshman Sean Ledford was third in the 200 fly (1:54.47), Dunne placed third in the 100 free (46.97) and Barnosky took third in the 200 breast (2:07.65).
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Nov. 10, hosting Wyoming with the women's team.
