GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Air Force men's swimming & diving completed day two action at the Intermountain Shootout, hosted by Colorado Mesa University Saturday afternoon at the El Pomar Natatorium. The Falcons split head-to-head scoring in a win over Colorado Mesa and a loss to BYU.

The Falcons defeated CMU 266-102 and lost to BYU 212.50-138.50.

Air Force had three wins on the day, led by junior Ryan Dunne and sophomore Michael Barnosky. Dunne won the 100 free, in addition to a third place finish in the 100 fly. Barnosky won the 50 breast and was second in the 200 breast.

The Falcons also won the 400 free relay to close out the meet. The group of Jackson Locke, Dunne, Jordan Dahle and Micah Newmann swam a time of 3:05.16.

Air Force opened day two with a second place finish in the 200 free relay. Dunne, Angus MacDonald, Devon Davis and Newmann combined to swim a time of 1:25.95.

In the first individual event, sophomore Sean Ledford placed fourth in the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.79. Barnosky followed up with a win in the 50 breast with a time of 26.59.

Sophomore Kevin Jackson placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:45.48. Senior Paul Leonhardt took fourth in the 200 medley with a time of 1:57.46.

Dunne won the 100 free with a time of 45.73. In the 200 back, freshman Kristopher Tillery took fourth with a time of 1:57.67.

In the 100 fly, Dunne placed third with a time of 50.63. Barnosky then placed second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:08.26.

Sophomore Dominic Vallejo was Air Force's top diver, placing second in the 3-meter diving with 242.67 points.

Air Force returns to action Friday, Oct. 18, hosting a four-way meet.
