U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The men's swimming and diving teams posted a 2-2 record, for the second straight day, at the Colorado Mesa Intermountain Shootout, Sat., Oct. 4, in Grand Junction, Colo. Air Force defeated Colorado Mesa University (302.00-70.00) and Colorado Mesa Club (317.00-13.00). The Falcons fell to Utah (259.00-113.00) and BYU (197.00-177.00).
Several Falcons posted top five finishes in their respective events. The Air Force relay team of Jordan Dahle, Lars Knutson, Michael Hannigan and George Frank placed third in the 200-yard fly with a time of 1:24.42. Air Force had two teams place in the 400-yard free relay. The team of George Frank, Michael Hannigan, Jordan Dahle and Ryan Dunne placed second with a 3:02.85. The relay team of Robert Graves, Matthew Walls, Devon Davis and Lars Knutson was fifth (3:08.75).
Junior Michael Barnosky won the 50-yard breast stroke with a time of 25.78. Sam Wieser was fifth in the event with a time of 26.81. Falcon junior Sean Ledford placed fifth in the 200-yard fly (1:55.26). Andrew Faciszewski placed fourth in the 500-yard free (4:39.72). Senior Ryan Dunne placed second in the 100-yard free (46.03) while George Frank was third with a 46.70. Barnosky was fifth in the 200-yard breast (2:09.17). In one-meter diving, Nathaniel Zillweger was third with 292.85 points.
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Oct. 10-11 at the Bulldog Invitational in Fresno, Calif.
