Air Force In Fifth Place After Day One at MPSF Championships

    Day One Results Get Acrobat Reader

    MONTEREY PARK, Calif. - Air Force men's swimming opened day one action at the 2013 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday at East Los Angeles College. The Falcons sit in fifth place with 56 points.

    Air Force placed fourth in the 200 medley relay and sixth in the 800 free relay. The Falcons just missed out on a school record in the 200 medley relay.

    The group of senior Matt Millikin, freshman Michael Barnosky, senior Kaleb Jenkins and freshman George Frank swam a season-best time of 1:28.81 in the 200 medley relay, just missing the school record of 1:28.68 by .13 seconds.

    In the 800 free relay, the group of sophomore Ryan Dunne, Frank, seniors Tim Martinelli and Jon Jones swam a season-best time of 6:34.87. They were over two seconds off the school record time.

    Day two events begin with the 500-yard freestyle preliminaries at 10 a.m. PST. The finals competition starts at 6 p.m. PST with the 200-yard free relay. The 2013 MPSF Swimming & Diving Championships conclude Saturday, February 23.
