USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's swimming and diving defeated Denver by the score of 187.50-162.50 in a sprint format dual meet Saturday afternoon at the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons won 11 of 20 events to improve to 13-8 on the season.

The Falcons were led by junior Ryan Dunne and sophomore Michael Barnosky, who combined to win seven individual events. Dunne won the 50 yard free and 50 fly two times each. Barnosky won all three 50 breaststroke heats.

Air Force also had a win in the 50 free by senior Paul Leonhardt. The Falcons won two of the three diving events. Sophomore Dominic Vallejo won both the 1-meter and platform dives.

The two schools tied in the 200 free relay as the judge deemed the race a pick'em tie. Air Force's 200 free relay group consisted of senior Angus MacDonald, Dunne, sophomore George Frank and freshman Jordan Dahle.

"It was a great win for us, as we swam very strong today," head coach Rob Clayton said. "Ryan Dunne had some big wins for us in the 50 free and 50 fly and Michael Barnosky dominated the breaststroke events. We look to use the momentum gained from this meet to springboard us into the WAC championships in a couple weeks."

Air Force returns to action at the 2014 WAC Championship Feb. 26-March 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
