Air Force Narrows Gap at UNLV Saturday

    LAS VEGAS - Air Force men's swimming & diving dropped a 126-116 dual meet at UNLV Saturday afternoon at Buchanan Natatorium. The Falcons moved to 10-7 on the season in head-to-head action.

    After falling by 57 points on Friday, 150-93, the Falcons narrowed the gap to just 10 points Saturday. Air Force hung tough, despite UNLV winning 10-of-11 swimming events.

    The Falcons won the 400 free relay and placed second in eight events.

    Sophomore Max Evans-Nolan placed second in the 1000 free. Senior Jon Jones followed with a second place finish in the 200 free and sophomore Ryan Dunne then took second in the 50 free.

    Freshman Kevin Mitchell placed second in the 200 individual medley and freshman Matthew Walls was second in the 200 back. Freshman Robert Graves took second in the 500 free and freshman Michael Barnosky was second in the 200 breaststroke.

    The group of Dunne, George Frank, Tim Martinelli and Angus MacDonald won the 400 free relay.

    Air Force returns to action Friday Feb. 1, hosting Utah.
