Guyette Earns MPSF Co-Player of the Week Honors


    Air Force sophomore goalie Brian Guyette, who posted his fourth shutout of the season last weekend, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer co-Player of the Week, announced Monday by the conference.
    Guyette made eight saves, all in the second half, to lead the Falcons to a 2-0 victory over Denver on Sunday and keep the Falcons in the running for the conference title. Air Force is currently in third place with a 5-2-1 conference record, behind San Jose State (6-2-1) and New Mexico (5-1-2).

    Guyette, who shared the award with Sacramento State's Eliot Ricks-Chambers, improved to 5-5-2 this season and upped his league-leading saves per game average to 5.9. He also lowered his GAA to 1.46.

    Air Force wraps up the regular season this weekend with games at UNLV on Friday, Nov. 11, and New Mexico on Sunday, Nov. 13.
