Falcons Host UMKC on Monday
The Air Force Falcons host the UMKC Kangaroos on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 12. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Cadet Soccer Stadium. Air Force is 4-3-1 this season, while UMKC is 4-5-1 after beating Denver 2-1 on Saturday.
Falcons Rout Howard at HBU Classic
The Falcons were in Houston, Texas last weekend for the Houston Baptist Classic. Air Force blanked Howard University, 4-0, in the first round behind two goals from sophomore Garrett Getschow, but was unable to play Houston Baptiust on Sunday due to poor weather and un unplayable field.
Two Falcons Net First Career Goal
For the sixth time in eight games this season, an Air Force player scored his first career goal. In fact, two Falcons each scored his first career goal against Howard last Friday. Freshman Kevin Durr's first career tally gave AFA a 2-0 lead, then sophomore Garrett Getschow scored the final two goals of the game, including the first of his career in the 63rd minute. In addition, freshmen Eric Tise and Cody Felipe each recorded his first point with an assist in the game.
Gullo Still Tops in the MPSF
Senior Jim Gullo continues to lead the MPSF in saves percentage (808) and is second in goals-against average (0.87). Gullo, who did not play last Friday against Howard, has 21 this season while allowing just five goals in six games.
Gullo is also ranked in the national stats as well. He is 58th in the country in goals-against average and saves percentage.
Rosser Top Ten in Assists
Senior Kevin Rosser, who is tied for the lead in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with four assists, leads the conference and is ranked eighth in the country in assists per game at 0.67 (four assists in six games).
