The Air Force men's soccer team hosts 11th-ranked New Mexico in an exhibition game on Thursday, August 22 at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and admission is free for all fans.

The Falcons are coming off a 10-9-4 campaign and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1997 last season. Air Force also won its first-ever conference tournament championship by defeating UNM in a shootout in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation title game and head coach Doug Hill was named the MPSF Coach of the Year.

Senior captains Caleb Downey and Brian Klazura lead the way in 2013. Downey, who had two game-winning goals against New Mexico last season, was recently named the WAC preseason Defensive Player of the Year. He scored three goals and started every game on the back line last year. Klazura, meanwhile, joined Downey on the preseason all-WAC team after tying for third on the team in scoring last season with seven points.

Air Force opens the 2013 regular season on Friday, August 30 against St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., beginning at 4 p.m. (PT).
