Freshman Colin Eames netted two goals and senior Thomas Clark added another to lead the Air Force men's soccer team to a 3-0 exhibition victory Saturday over CU-Colorado Springs in front of 363 fans at the Cadet Soccer Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Eames took a free kick from Falcon senior David Auston and headed it past CU-Colorado Springs goalkeeper Christopher Sack in the 62nd minute. Clark, who was third in scoring last season for Air Force, put the Falcons up 2-0 in the 75th minute teammate Marcus Sagastume deked Sack and found Clark in front of an open net.

The teams played two extra 10-minute periods, and Eames tallied his second goal with three minutes left in the second extra stanza with a shot from the goal line left of the CU-Colorado Springs net that somehow found the upper right corner.

Air Force put 16 shots on goal, compared to just three for the Mountain Lions. Senior Mike Taylor, who played the first 90 minutes, made all three saves for Air Force. Sack made seven saves for the Mountain Lions, while starter Chris Hovasse made six.

Air Force continues exhibition play on Saturday, Aug. 24 against the Brigham Young University at 1 p.m. at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons open their regular season at home on Friday, Aug. 30, against Birmingham-Southern in the Falcon Invitational, beginning at 4 p.m.
