UC Riverside Downs Air Force, 1-0

Jimmy Martinez scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute Friday evening to give the UC Riverside men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Air Force. The victory raised UCR's record to 3-4 on the season while the Falcons fell to 2-5.
With 14:24 gone after intermission, the Highlanders finally broke the scoreless tie when Tyler Wilson crossed Joel Garcia's pass into the box and Martinez slotted it into the right side of the net past AFA goalie Matt Underwood to give UCR a 1-0 lead.
The Highlanders outshot Air Force 17-10 in total shots and 8-6 in shots on goal. Falcon senior Kyle Moses had a game-high three shots on goal, while sophomores Kevin Durr and Zane Dydasco and freshman Brian Klazura each had one.
Underwood made seven saves for the Falcons, while Nick Goldreich made six saves in posting the shutout.
The Falcons head to Northridge, Calif., to take on Cal State Northridge on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m.
