The Falcons took the lead with a score in the 50th by Zach Hill. Hill got to a ball right before CSUN goalkeeper Kevin Marquez could and punched the ball in from eight yards out for the score. Gus Jensen was credited with the assist.
"It was great win after we expended a lot of energy Friday vs. Navy," Falcon soccer head coach Doug Hill said. "I like how our team responeded. Jake Schenk did a great job keeping us in game. It's always great getting a win against a quality oppenent like CSUN. It's now time to switch gears and get ready for another strong opponent in Army."
The Air Force defense clamped down after the first goal, holding CSUN scoreless over the final 80 minutes of play.
The Falcons controlled most of the match, holding advantages in shots (15-9) and corner kicks (10-2).
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Sept. 6, at Army.
