USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's soccer dropped a 1-0 exhibition match to Denver Sunday afternoon at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. Denver scored in the 71st minute for the lone goal of the match.

In what was otherwise an evenly played match, Denver netted the goal at the 70:30 mark. Jordan Schweitzer scored on a long-ball from 25 yards out. Kyle Emerson was credited with the assist.

"We got a lot of guys a lot of minutes, but we need to get better faster," Air Force head coach Doug Hill said. "Overall, we just have to be better on the ball and do things a lot quicker. Some of our players are getting used to the pace of college ball, but we'll continue to get better."

Denver had eight shots in the match, while Air Force had seven. Senior midfielder Scott McGillivray led the Falcons with three shots, two on goal. Sophomore Tucker Axhoj added two shots on goal.

Sophomore Jake Schenk logged all 90 minutes in front of the net the Falcons, recording three saves.

Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Aug. 20, hosting an exhibition match against New Mexico. Kickoff is 3 p.m. at the Cadet Soccer Stadium.
