[+]Jim Gullo Named to Academic All-District Team11/2/2009-M. Soccer Air Force goalkeeper Jim Gullo has been named to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 7 men's soccer team. Gullo, who currently has a 3.79 cumulative GPA in biochemistry, will now go on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration. This is the first all-district selection for Gullo. [+]Seattle Univ. Soccer Ian Walsh scored with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime to give the Seattle University men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Air Force Sunday afternoon in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action at the Starfire Soccer Complex. With the victory, Seattle improved to 3-10-1 overall and 2-3 in the MPSF, while the Falcons fell to 7-7-1 and 2-4 in league play. [+]Falcons Drop 2-1 Decision to CSU Bakersfield10/30/2009-M. Soccer Evan Fassler scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 57th minute to lead the CSU Bakersfield men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Air Force Friday night at Main Soccer Field in Bakersfield, Calif. With the victory, CSUB improved to 7-6-2 overall and 2-3 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, while the Falcons fell to 7-6-1 and 2-3 in league play. Soccer The Air Force Falcons continue play within the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation this weekend with a pair of games on the road. Air Force, 7-5-1 overall and 2-2 in the MPSF, will play at Cal-State Bakersfield (6-6-2, 1-3) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m., and at Seattle University (2-10-1, 1-3) on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. Both teams are tied for fifth place in the conference standings. [+]Mike Mauro Named MPSF Co-Player of the Week10/26/2009-M. Soccer Air Force freshman goalie Mike Mauro has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer Co-Player of the Week after leading the Falcons to a pair of home conference victories this past weekend. Mauro, from Bristol, Conn., made 10 saves and allowed just one goal in wins over New Mexico, 1-0, and UNLV, 2-1. He shares the award with Ernesto Carranza of Sacramento State. [+]
