USAFA, Colo. - With a total of six home games and eight games in the state of Colorado, the 2014 Air Force lacrosse schedule has been announced by head coach Eric Seremet.
"I'm excited about what this season's schedule has in store for us," said Seremet. "With such an experienced, senior-led team this year, I'm eager to see what we can do in the final year of the ECAC. I like the geographical mix of teams on our schedule, as we'll be able to showcase Air Force lacrosse around the country. We've also got a great opponent for our season opener in Denver, who is moving to the Big East this year."
The Falcons open the season on Feb. 8, as they host former conference foe Denver, who advanced to the 2013 NCAA semi-finals. Air Force remains at home for its next game, hosting first-year program Furman on Feb. 15, while heading to Denver's Face-Off Classic Feb. 22-23. The Falcons will face Canisius on the first day of the tournament, before taking on Marist on day two.
Air Force heads to Lexington, Va., to face VMI on March 2, while opening its ECAC slate at home versus Bellarmine on March 8. The Falcons play their next two contests on the road, visiting Jacksonville (March 15) and Binghamton (March 23) in non-conference action.
On March 29, the Falcons open a three-game homestand against conference foe Michigan, followed by a non-conference game against Mercer on April 5. Air Force closes out its home slate with an ECAC match-up versus Fairfield on April 12, as the Falcons say goodbye to their 15-member senior class.
The final conference game of the season will come on April 19, as Air Force visits Ohio State, while the Falcons close out the regular season at Quinnipiac on April 26. Meanwhile, the final ECAC Tournament will take place May 1 and 3 in Columbus, Ohio.
