Adams, Stillwell Named MWC Scholar-Athletes

Lacrosse players Paul Adams (Arvada, Colo.) and Ryan Stillwell (Worthington, Ohio) joined 26 other Air Force athletes as Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athletes for the 2004-05 season, as released by the conference office today. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have competed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.
Adams, who was also named an MWC Scholar-Athlete in 2003-04, has put together a 3.71 GPA in Operations Research over his first three years at the Academy. A midfielder who will serve as one of the Falcons' tri-captains in 2006, Adams has been a solid contributor for Air Force, seeing action in all 12 games last season, while getting six starts under his belt. He tallied two goals on the year, while picking up 21 ground balls. Meanwhile, Stillwell, a rising junior, receives Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors for the first time, compiling a 3.58 GPA in mechanical engineering. The defender will look to play a more prominent role for the Falcons in 2006.
