Hade Selected To Participate in North/South Classic
Air Force lacrosse player Tim Hade has been selected as an alternate and will play for the North squad at the 64th annual STX-GEICO North/South Classic, which will be held June 11 on the campus of SUNY Cortland. Hade becomes the 13th Falcon to take part in the prestigious game and the first since 1998.
An honorable mention preseason All-America selection by Inside Lacrosse magazine, Hade, a senior from Franklin Lake, N.J., was the heart and soul of this year's Air Force squad. A second-team All-GWLL selection in 2004, the long-stick midfielder/defender finished the season ranked second on the team in ground balls, picking up 50 on the year, and scored the first three goals of his career, including the Falcons' only man-down goal of the season. For his efforts this year, Hade was named Air Force's defensive and overall team MVP. The North/South Classic is an integral part of USILA's All-Star Weekend, which gets started with the All-American banquet on Friday, June 10. The Division I and Division III North/South games, which feature many of the top senior lacrosse players from across the country, are then played on Saturday. This season, the Division I North team will be coached by Princeton's Bill Tierney and Cornell's Jeff Tambroni. Meanwhile, Dom Starsia of Virginia and Brian Volker of Penn head up the South squad.
