PERRY, N.Y. - Air Force lacrosse player Dayton Gilbreath has been selected to participate in the 71st-annual USILA/LaxWorld Division I-II Senior North/South Game, which will be held Friday, May 25, at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Mass. Gilbreath, who will play for the North squad, becomes the 15th Falcon in program history to take part in the prestigious event, and the first since 2007.
Gilbreath, a defenseman from Bainbridge Island, Wash., was named the Falcons' MVP in 2012 after earning all-conference honors for the fourth-straight season. A four-year starter, Gilbreath has been responsible for shutting down the opponents' top scorer throughout his career. This season, he recorded a career-best 32 ground balls, while also registering eight caused turnovers.
The North/South Game is held in conjunction with Championship weekend, which is capped off with the NCAA title game on Memorial Day. The weekend will begin with the Division III North/South Game at 3:00 p.m., followed by the Division I-II North/South Game at 5:30 p.m. Coaching the Division I North team this season is Joe Alberici of Army, while Lehigh's Kevin Cassese and Towson's Shawn Nadelen will coach the South team.
