Falcon Lacrosse Selects Captains for 2005 Season
May 7, 2004 The Air Force men's lacrosse team announced their captains for the 2005 season at a banquet held May 6, 2004. The Falcons, who have had three captains each of the last two seasons, will have just two team captains in 2005. Timothy Hade and D.J. Benzing were voted captains by their teammates.
The team also presented individual awards to the players for their accomplishments this season. Senior Michael Colosimo was named team most valuable player. Freshman William Meister, who tied for the team lead with 25 points, grabbed the offensive MVP award, while the defensive MVP award was shared by freshman Stephen Whittenberg and goalkeeper Justin Pavoni. This year's recipient of the Pace Weber Award was Dave Brown. This award is presented yearly as a tribute to former Air Force lacrosse player Pace Weber, who perished along with his instructor in a T-3 flight training accident during his senior year at the Academy. Voted on by members of the varsity team, the recipient is an individual associated with the USAFA varsity lacrosse team, who most exemplifies the characteristics by which Pace lived his life.
