CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Air Force freshman Christopher Allen has been named the ECAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week, as released by the league today. It marks the first career weekly award for Allen, and the fourth for an Air Force player this season.
Allen, a native of Hillsborough, N.J., was the leading scorer for the Falcons in their game at Fairfield this past weekend, tallying his second hat trick of the season. In addition to notching the first score of the game, Allen recorded two more goals in the final six minutes to help Air Force come back to tie the contest. Allen currently ranks fourth on the team in total goals scored this season with 14.
Denver swept the rest of the ECAC weekly awards following its overtime victory over Loyola on Saturday, with Cameron Flint earning offensive player of the week honors, while Ryan LaPlante and Chase Carraro were named the defensive player and specialist of the week, respectively.
Air Force, which returns home for its final two games of the season, is back in action this Saturday, April 20, for a 12:00 p.m. contest against 12th-ranked Ohio State.
