SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Air Force’s Chris Walsch was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for games played April 5-11, the league office announced Tuesday.
Walsch earned his third weekly honor of the season by leading No. 12 Air Force (10-2, 4-0 SoCon) past league foe Mercer on April 9, 15-13. The sophomore from Hampstead, Md., scored four goals, including the game-winner with 2:10 remaining. He also dished out an assist in the Falcons’ 10th straight win, which marks a program record and is the longest streak active streak in Division I. Walsch now has three game-winners during the 2016 campaign and has found the net in 16 consecutive contests. He leads the SoCon with 3.50 points per game.
Air Force hosts its final home game of the season on Saturday, April 16, at noon MT at Falcon Stadium.
