William Arnold was named the Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) player of the week after an outstanding performance in goal in the Falcons' conference victory over Fairfield on April 7.

"Arnold did an outstanding job against Fairfield," head coach Fred Acee said. "He's been a very tough competitor all season and has endured some tough games. He deserves to be recognized for his hard work and superb goaltending."

Arnold notched 14 saves against Fairfield and helped keep the Stags scoreless on seven extra-man opportunities. Against conference leader Notre Dame, Arnold had 13 saves and held the high-powered Fighting Irish offense to just nine goals. On the season, Arnold is averaging over 11 saves per game. He has 89 saves in eight games, with a save percentage of .618.

The victory over Fairfield improves the Falcons' record to 1-1 in GWLL action, moving them into third place in the conference. The Falcons will have 12 days rest before resuming play on the road against league foe Butler on Friday, April 19, at 4 p.m.
