CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Air Force junior Mike Crampton has been named the ECAC Lacrosse League Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as released by the league today. It marks the first career weekly award for Crampton, and the third for an Air Force player this season.
Crampton, a native of Kinnelon, N.J., scored a career-best 11 points to lead Air Force to a 15-9 victory over Mercer on Saturday, tallying three goals and a personal-best eight assists against the Bears. Crampton, who reached the 100-career point plateau with his performance, recorded his third consecutive hat trick (and sixth of the season), scoring three of the Falcons' first four goals. He also had a hand in each of Air Force's first seven scores. Crampton, who entered the contest with seven assists on the season, posted the Falcons' highest assist total in a single game since 1990.
Sharing offensive player of the week honors with Crampton was Denver's Eric Law, while Loyola's Scott Ratliff and Ohio State's Joe Meurer were named the defensive players of the week. Ohio State's Carter Brown earned rookie of the week honors, while Loyola's Josh Hawkins was tabbed the specialist of the week.
Air Force is back in action this weekend, April 13, for its final road game of the regular season, visiting Fairfield in an ECAC match-up.
