USAFA, Colo. - Senior lacrosse player Mike Crampton was named the Air Force Co-Athlete of the Week on April 7, following his performance in Air Force's 19-6 rout of Mercer this past weekend.
Crampton, a native of Kinnelon, N.J., scored a career-high eight goals and added an assist to lead Air Force against Mercer on Saturday afternoon. Crampton, who took just nine shots in the game, scored seven of his eight goals in the first quarter alone, including three in the first three and a half minutes of action. He became the first Falcon to score at least eight goals in a contest since 1994, when Mike Murphy and Bryan Salmon both accomplished the feat in separate games.
Crampton shared Air Force Athlete of the Week honors with women's tennis player Natasha Rizvi, who compiled a 6-1 record last week.
