The Air Force men's lacrosse team will begin league play this weekend when it hosts Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) opponents Notre Dame and Fairfield. The Falcons will play Notre Dame on Friday, April 9th, followed by Fairfield on Sunday, April 11th. Game times are 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

The Falcons will look to snap a four-game losing streak. After winning their first two games, they have lost their last four, including three losses by a single goal. Most recently, the team fell 7-3 to Stony Brook in their worst loss of the season.

Air Force is 4-14 all-time against Notre Dame. Last year, the Falcons lost to the Fighting Irish 13-4 on the road. It was their worst loss of the season. They are 1-2 against Fairfield, including a 15-8 loss last year to the Stags. It was the most goals surrendered all season.

"We need to get back on track," head coach Fred Acee said. "These conference games are very important for us. We have proven that we are capable of defeating good teams. Now we need to win the close games."

Freshman Will Meister leads the team with 14 points on six goals and a team-high eight assists. Freshman Justin Kuchta is the team's leading goal scorer with 10 goals. Greg Dangler has 11 points. Goalkeeper Justin Pavoni is ranked seventh in the nation in save percentage (.655) and 16th in goals against average (7.59).

Notre Dame, with a 3-4 record, is ranked 16th in the nation. Fairfield is 5-4 and unranked.
