CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Air Force freshman Keith Dreyer has been named the ECAC Lacrosse League Offensive Player of the Week, as released by the league on Monday. It marks the second career weekly award for Dreyer, who was named co-rookie of the week earlier this season.
An attack from Malvern, Pa., Dreyer led the Falcons in scoring in a pair of victories this past week, compiling 10 points on seven goals and three assists. He tallied a career-high four goals in an 11-8 win over Jacksonville on Tuesday while registering three goals and three assists in a 20-4 victory against Mercer on Saturday. Against Jacksonville, Dreyer scored two of his goals just six seconds apart in a 5-0 third period run that sparked the Falcons' victory. He played limited minutes versus Mercer, notching five of his six points in the first period.
Dreyer, who leads the Falcons' offense with 38 points on the year, is now just the third Air Force player in the past 13 seasons to register over 20 assists in a single season, and the first to do so as a freshman.
Also earning ECAC honors this week were Loyola's Reid Acton, named defensive player of the week, and Denver's Wes Berg and Chase Carraro, who were honored as the rookie and specialist of the week, respectively.
The Falcons return to action this Sunday, April 8, when they host ECAC foe Bellarmine in a 12:00 p.m. contest.
