USAFA, Colo. - Air Force junior Ridge Flick (Plano, Texas) was named the Great Western Lacrosse League Player of the Week for games through March 15, as announced today by the conference. It is the first career conference honor for Flick, and the second conference honor for a Falcon this season.
Flick registered a career-best five points (three goals, two assists) to help lead Air Force to a 14-8 victory over Quinnipiac in the team's conference opener on Sunday. Flick's three goals came on just four shots, while he also added two ground balls in the game.
The Quinnipiac game marked the second three-goal output and third two-assist output of the season for Flick, who ranks first on the team in total points (15) and assists (7). He has scored multiple points in five of six games for Air Force this season, more than any other Falcon.
Flick will play in front of a hometown crowd this weekend as he and the rest of the Falcons head to Dallas, Texas, to take on Bucknell in the Patriot Cup. The game is slated for March 21 at 2:30 p.m. (CT) and is being held at Ford Stadium on the campus of SMU.
