Air Force Visits Jacksonville for Non-Conference Tilt

    The Air Force lacrosse team returns to action this Saturday, March 15, when it visits Jacksonville in a non-conference match-up, slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. (ET).

    LAST TIME OUT...
    The Falcons picked up the victory in their ECAC opener, earning a 13-9 home win over previously undefeated Bellarmine last weekend. Senior Mike Crampton and sophomore Christopher Allen both tallied hat tricks to lead the Falcons' offense, while senior Bryan Price led Air Force's effort at the face-off X, winning 11-of-17 draws.

    SCOUTING THE FALCONS...
    Air Force enters this weekend with a 3-3 overall record following its win over Bellarmine last weekend. Senior Tommy McKee leads the Falcons' offense with 17 points on the season (12g, 5a), while senior Mike Crampton has pitched in 16 points (12g, 4a) on the season. In addition, junior Keith Dreyer has registered 13 points, including a team-leading nine assists, while senior Erik Smith has tallied 12 points (10g, 2a).

    SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS...
    Jacksonville, which holds a 1-4 record on the season, is coming off its first win of the season, a 9-8 home victory over Marquette. Duncan Clancy is the leading scorer for the Dolphins this season with five goals and a team-high eight assists, while four other players have scored five goals on the year to share the team lead. Meanwhile, goaltender Pete DeLuca averages 13.6 saves per contest, ranking fifth in the nation.

    ECAC SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK...
    Senior captain Bryan Price was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Specialist of the Week on March 10 for his performance in the Falcons' conference-opening win over Bellarmine. Price led the Falcons' effort at the face-off X in Air Force's win against the previously undefeated Knights, winning 11-of-17 draws, while picking up a season-high eight ground balls. Price also scored his first goal of the season, finding the back of the net after winning the opening face-off of the fourth period, to give Air Force a 12-8 lead.

    AIR FORCE CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK...
    Senior captain Mike Crampton was named the Air Force Co-Athlete of the Week on March 10 for his performance versus Bellarmine. Crampton helped pace the Falcons' offense in a 13-9 victory over the Knights, finishing with three goals and two assists. His scoring output marked his second hat trick of the season and 18th of his career.

    LENDING A HAND...
    While senior Tommy McKee tallied just one goal in the Falcons' win over Bellarmine last weekend, he made a strong impact on Air Force's offense by handing out a career-high three assists.

    ONE OF THE TOP FRESHMEN IN THE NATION...
    Freshman midfielder Austin Smith has been tabbed one of the top 25 freshmen in the nation by Inside Lacrosse in its early season rankings. Smith, who has started two games for the Falcons, has tallied four goals and three assists in Air Force's first six contests of the season, and is rated 21st on the list.

    HAT TRICKS...
    So far this season, Air Force has had four different players record a hat trick. Seniors Tommy McKee and Mike Crampton both have a pair of hat tricks under their belts this year. McKee finished with three goals in the season opener versus Denver and added five tallies in the win over Marist, while Crampton scored five goals against Marist and registered three goals versus Bellarmine. Classmate Erik Smith notched his first hat trick of the year against Furman on Feb. 15, finishing with four goals, while sophomore Christopher Allen netted his first hat trick of the year against Bellarmine, scoring three goals.

    Crampton currently leads the Falcons in career hat tricks with 18, followed by McKee, who ranks second on the team with 12. Meanwhile, Smith and Allen have each recorded three hat tricks in their respective careers.

    STILL STREAKING...
    Senior Tommy McKee currently owns the longest goal scoring streak in the nation, having scored at least one goal in 27 straight games, dating back to the 2012 season. Meanwhile, his 30-game point scoring streak is currently the 12th-longest in the nation.

    The Falcons return to action next Sunday, March 23, with a non-conference contest at Binghamton.
