    The Air Force lacrosse team opens its 2014 ECAC slate this Saturday, March 8, when it hosts conference foe Bellarmine. Gametime is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Falcon Stadium.

    LAST TIME OUT...
    The Falcons' offense struggled in the team's first road game of the season, as Air Force dropped a 6-4 decision to VMI on Sunday. Senior captain Erik Smith tallied a pair of goals to lead the Falcons' offense, while junior Keith Dreyer added two assists.

    SCOUTING THE FALCONS...
    Air Force enters this weekend with a 2-3 overall record and 0-0 mark in the ECAC. Senior Tommy McKee leads the Falcons' offense with 13 points on the season, including a team-high 11 goals, while senior Mike Crampton (9g, 2a) and junior Keith Dreyer (3g, 8a) have added 11 points each.

    SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS...
    Bellarmine, which is currently receiving votes in both the USILA coaches' poll and Warrior Media Poll, enters this weekend with a 4-0 record on the year and an 0-0 ledger in ECAC action. Freshman Tucker Ciessau leads the Knights' offense with 14 goals on the season, while senior Chad Mitchell has added 10 points, including a team-leading seven assists. Meanwhile, netminder Will Haas holds a 6.50 GAA, while averaging 11.5 saves per contest.

    THE OFFENSE WINS IT...
    In its three losses this year, Air Force's offense has struggled to find the back of the net, averaging just six goals per game. In contrast, the Falcons have averaged 16 goals per game in their two victories.

    DEFENSE STANDS STRONG...
    While the Falcons' offense struggled versus VMI last week, scoring just four goals, the defense had a solid effort, holding the Keydets to just six goals, the lowest scoring output for an Air Force opponent this season. Additionally, Air Force recorded a season-high 16 caused turnovers, led by junior long-stick midfielder Kyle O'Brien, who registered three caused turnovers versus VMI.

    STILL STREAKING...
    Senior Tommy McKee currently owns the longest goal scoring streak in the nation, having scored at least one goal in 26 straight games, dating back to the 2012 season. Meanwhile, his 29-game point scoring streak is currently the 12th-longest in the nation.

    UP NEXT...
    Air Force is back on the road next weekend, March 15, when they visit Jacksonville for a non-conference match-up.
