Air Force Lacrosse Downs Wagner College, 13-4


    In its first win of the season, the Air Force lacrosse team defeated Wagner College, 13-4, Sunday afternoon in a match held at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

    The Falcons gained an early lead and swept through the first period with four unanswered goals. Air Force opened the second period with another goal, which was finally answered by Wagner a minute later. The Falcons scored two more goals during the second period, leaving Wagner College with a 7-1 deficit at the midway point. Air Force came out strong once again, scoring four unanswered goals during the third period, but then giving up three and only scoring two in the fourth to win the match, 13-4.

    The Falcons won the statistical battle, out-shooting Wagner, 61-11, gaining more ground balls, 50-13, and winning more face-offs, 14-6. Air Force also had 10 different players score throughout the match. The leading scorers in Sunday's game were C1C (Sr.) Jay Agnew, C4C (Fr.) Dave Brown and C4C Kyle Warf with two goals each. Single goals were scored by C1C Ryan Hayde, C2C (Jr.) Nathan Koss, C2C Matt Dudderar, C4C Mike Colosimo, C1C Steve Berger, C4C Bill Keleher, and C3C Eric Lederer.

    The Air Force lacrosse team will be in action again Sat., March 10 at Brown University. The game is scheduled to being at 1 p.m.
