THIS WEEK: Air Force travels to Denver to take on Cleveland State in the annual Pioneer Face Off Classic hosted by the University of Denver.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m. MT. Air Force and Cleveland State will be meeting for the second time.  The Falcons lead the series, 1-0.

LAST TIME THEY MET: Air Force blew by Cleveland State as nine Falcons registered 16 goals, including two hat trick performances, in the second game of the Pioneer Face-Off Classic, at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

UP NEXT: Air Force returns to Falcon Stadium to host Boston University at USAFA for the first time in program history.  Last season, the Terriers won the initial meeting between the teams, 8-6, in Boston.

LAST WEEK: Senior team captain Nick Hruby exploded in Tenney Stadium, netting a career-best six goals to lift the Falcons to an 8-7 victory and their first win of 2018.  Air Force netted four-straight goals to battle backed from a three-point deficit in the third quarter. Hruby notched the game winner with three minutes remaining.

HRUBY EARNS NUMEROUS WEEKLY HONORS: Hruby was named the Southern Conference men’s lacrosse offensive player of the week, for all competition from Feb. 13-19. The awards are selected by the league office.

Air Force’s Hruby had a career day, matching the SoCon single-game record with a career-high six goals in an 8-7 win over Marist. Among Hruby’s goals was the game-winner, which he scored with 3:19 left in the contest to cap the Falcon’s game-ending 4-0 run to overcome a three-goal third-quarter deficit. The senior attackman from Coppell, Texas, scored the first of his two first-period goals just 58 seconds into the contest and completed his first hat trick of the season in the second period. He scored twice in the third period before his decisive goal in the fourth. Hruby put nine of his 12 shots on goal and scooped three ground balls in the contest.
