USAFA, Colo. - Sophomore Tommy McKee (Holt, Mich.) tallied a career-best seven points to lead the Air Force lacrosse team to a 12-8 victory over Bellarmine Sunday afternoon at Falcon Stadium.

McKee scored five goals and two assists, while freshman Keith Dreyer (Malvern, Pa.) added a goal and a game-high three assists, as the Falcons (6-4, 1-2) picked up their first ECAC victory of the season. In addition, long-stick midfielder Kyle O'Brien (Fr., Denver, Colo.) notched a career-best three points on one goal and two assists.

Air Force got out to a slow start offensively, with Bellarmine (3-6, 0-5) taking a 2-0 lead with 1:46 remaining in the opening period. However, sophomore Bryan Price (Denver, Colo.) won the ensuing face-off and Dreyer connected with McKee for the Falcons' first goal of the game just six seconds later.

Just over five minutes into the second quarter, O'Brien tied the game at 2-2 to spark a 5-0 second-period run for the Falcons, as Air Force took a 6-2 advantage at the break. After the intermission, the Falcons added two more scores before the Knights got back on the board with a man-up score from Colton Clark. A goal from Marcus Walker (So., Denver, Colo.) pushed Air Force's lead back to six goals, but Bellarmine closed out the period with two more scores, including one with just a second left on the clock.

The Falcons opened the final stanza with a goal from freshman Tom Burgess (Watertown, N.Y.), but the Knights tallied two more scores to cut the margin to 10-7 with just over 10 minutes remaining. Another goal from McKee pushed the Air Force lead back to four goals, and while Bellarmine added another score at the 1:20 mark, McKee notched his fifth goal of the game with nine seconds on the clock to secure the Falcons' 12-8 victory.

Air Force held the advantage on face-offs, led by Price, who won 14-of-22 at the X. Meanwhile, Bellarmine was 3-of-5 on the EMO, while holding the Falcons scoreless on three extra-man attempts.

Air Force closes out its home slate next weekend, April 14, as it hosts Fairfield in an ECAC contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. in Falcon Stadium.
