Lacrosse Scores Upset Over No. 11 Navy, 8-6

The Air Force lacrosse team notched a major upset over service academy rival Navy, defeating the nationally-ranked Midshipmen 8-6. It was the Falcons first-ever victory over No. 11 Navy and the programs first-ever victory over a ranked opponent.

"Our players played their hearts out," said head coach Fred Acee. "They followed our game plan and worked hard to defeat a very good Navy team. It was a great win for us."

Air Force never trailed in the game. The started the scoring and took a 5-4 lead at the half. They scored a goal in the third and two in the fourth to secure the victory.

Greg Dangler was the offensive spark for the Falcons, scoring half of the team's goals. Jon French and Kyle Warf each notched a goal and an assist. Alexander DeManss and Michael Colosimo each added a goal, while Eric Lederer and William Keleher each had two assists.

The Falcons defense was tremendous. They stopped four of five extra man opportunites. William Arnold notched 14 saves in goal.

The win snaps a two-game lonsing streak for Air Force, which improves to 2-4 overall. They will take on Stony Brook on Thursday, March 27th, in the final game of a three-game road trip.
