Lacrosse Air Force lacrosse player Matthew Selby was one of a league-record 548 individuals named a Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete for the 2008-09 season, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon. Selby, a native of Eagan, Minn., is a rising sophomore who carries a 3.52 GPA. Selby saw action in two contests during his freshman campaign. The Falcons celebrated a highly successful season in which the team finished 7-7 on the year with a school-record four GWLL wins. Air Force also claimed a second-place showing in the league for just the second time (first since 1995) and earned a spot in the Great Western Lacrosse League tournament.
