Jeff Hajner named AHA Rookie of the Week
    Freshman forward had three points in UConn series

    U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force freshman Jeff Hajner was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for his performance against UConn, Dec. 7-8.

    Hajner, a right wing/center from Las Vegas, Nev., had a career best three points in the two-game series against UConn. He assisted on the game-winning goal on Thursday as the Falcons beat the Huskies, 4-2. On Friday, he netted Air Force's final goal on a deflection in front of the net to give the Falcons a 5-2 lead in the second period. He also had an assist on the Falcons' first goal on Friday.

    On the season, Hajner is the Falcons' top rookie scorer with eight points on three goals and five assists in 20 games. He is tied for 10th in the conference in points by a freshman.

    Air Force, 9-8-3 overall and 6-3-3 in the AHA, is off until Jan. 5-6, at Mercyhurst in Erie, Penn.
