Ramsey named AHA Offensive Player of the Week

Nov. 20, 2006

U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force senior winger Andrew Ramsey was named the Atlantic Hockey Association offensive player of the week for his performance in the two-game series against American International College (AIC), Nov. 17-19.

Ramsey scored a career-best four goals in Air Force's 6-1 win on Friday. The four goals are the most by a Falcon since Justin Kieffer vs. UConn in 1998. The assistant captain also scored a goal in Sunday's 3-0 win to give him five goals on the weekend. He scored the first goal in both games and netted the game-winner on Sunday, his third of the season to tie for the national lead. Ramsey also had 10 shots on Friday, a career-best and the most by any Falcon this season.

On the season, Ramsey is second on the team and 22nd in the nation with 19 points (10-9-19) in 14 games. He is the third Falcon to earn the award this season as his linemates, Eric Ehn (Oct. 9) and Mike Phillipich (Oct. 23) have also earned offensive player of the week honors.

Air Force, 7-6-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the AHA, is in third place in the league. The Falcons play at Denver, Nov. 24, and then host Robert Morris, Sunday, Nov. 26.
