This Week Air Force (5-3, 3-1 AHA) is idle until the Falcons host the Robert Morris Colonials (0-5-1, 0-0-1 AHA) for a single game on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7:05 p.m. at the Cadet Ice Arena.

The Coach Head coach Frank Serratore is in his 17th season at Air Force with a record of 277-266-58 record (601 games). He is the winningest coach in the history of Air Force hockey, having led Air Force to five AHA championships and five NCAA Tournaments in the last seven years. In 21 seasons as a collegiate head coach, he has an overall record of 326-358-67 (751 games).
The Rankings Air Force is the only AHA team receiving votes in the national polls this week. The Falcons received 10 points in the USCHO.com weekly poll.
The Streak Air Force's five-game winning streak, that ended on Nov. 2 at Mercyhurst, ties as the longest streak since the Falcons won eight straight late in the 2010-11 season. At the time, the five-game winning streak was the second-longest in the nation. During the streak, Air Force outscored its opponents, 20-9.
Individual Notes Cole Gunner scored a goal in five straight games from Oct. 12-27. The streak was the longest since Jacques Lamoureux had a seven-game goal-scoring streak in the 2010-11 season. Gunner had a five-game goal and point streak end on Nov. 1 at RIT. Demers had a team-best six-game point streak end at Mercyhurst, Nov. 2. Gunner's two game-winning goals are tied for fourth in the nation. Demers is tied for first in the AHA in all games in points (10) and assists (8). Gunner is tied for third in the AHA in points (8) and second in goals (5) and in all games. Scott Holm is tied for first in the AHA and for ninth in the nation with three power-play goals. Senior Mitch Torrel scored his first career goal against Mercyhurst, Nov. 2. Jason Torf made a season-high 39 saves and recorded his 10th career shutout in the 2-0 win over RIT, Nov. 1.
Scouting the Colonials Robert Morris is 0-5-1 overall this season and 0-0-1 in the AHA. The Colonials play a pair of league home games this weekend, hosting Canisius, Nov. 8, and RIT, Nov. 9. The Colonials opened the season with a pair of road losses at Lake Superior State. After a tie with Niagara, RMU has lost its last three games, two to Ohio State and one to Penn State. Cody Wydo leads the team, and Atlantic Hockey, with seven goals. He has eight points on the season. Sophomore Terry Shafer has seen the most action in goal and has a 2.77 GAA and a .923 saves percentage.
Last Season vs. the Colonials Air Force swept the series last season, winning all three games by a combined score of 10-2. In the single game in Pittsburgh in October, Scott Holm and Alex Halloran scored power-play goals for a 2-0 lead. After a goal by RMU's David Friedmann, Jason Fabian scored two empty-netters for a 4-1 win. AFA outshot RMU, 30-23. Levine had 26 saves while Torf had 22. In the first game at AFA, Torf made 30 saves in the 2-0 win. Kyle De Laurell and Chad Demers scored for Air Force. Levine made 23 saves for RMU. In the second game, Torf stopped 28 of 29 shots in the 4-1 win. Ben Persian, Cole Gunner, Adam McKenzie and Ryan Timar scored for Air Force. The Falcons had a 45-29 shot advantage. Levine made 41 saves for the Colonials.
Series vs.the Colonials Air Force and Robert Morris have met 19 times and AFA holds an 11-8 lead in the series that began in 2004. Air Force has won four straight in the series and seven of the last eight. The teams played nine times as members of the College Hockey America conference and the Colonials had a 6-3 lead in the series. The teams met as non-conference opponents in November, 2006, and the Falcons won a 4-3 game at the Academy. The teams renewed the rivalry as Atlantic Hockey opponents for the 2010-11 season. As AHA opponents, AFA has a 7-2 lead in the series. In games played in Colorado, AFA has won six straight against RMU and the Falcons are 7-3 all-time vs. the Colonials at Cadet Ice Arena.
