U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force junior Billy Christopoulos was named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Month, in leading the Falcons to a 5-2-1 record in the month of October.
In eight games, Christopoulos’ five wins and .688 winning percentage are the best of any AHC goalie. His 210 saves are the most in the league and rank eighth in the nation. The Raleigh, N.C., native had 32 saves in the season-opening win at Alaska, the second most of his career. He made 30 saves in the home opener win over Arizona State and led Air Force to its first win in Bemidji since 2001, and just the second ever, by making 29 saves. Christopoulos has held his opponents to two goals or less in five of his eight starts. In eight games, he has a 2.12 GAA and a .925 saves percentage.
Air Force (5-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the AHC) hosts Army West Point on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 3-4, at the Cadet Ice Arena. Friday’s faceoff is at 7:05 while Saturday’s game will start at 7:35 pm.
