AFA's Demers earns Atlantic Hockey weekly honors

    U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force junior forward Chad Demers was the named the Travel Team USA/Atlantic Hockey Association Player of Week as he helped lead the Falcons to a pair of conference wins last weekend.

    Demers had a team-high four points to lead Air Force to a pair of conference wins over Canisius and Niagara. He assisted on the game-winning goal in the 3-2 win over Canisius. Two days later, he tallied three points (1-2-3) in the win over Niagara. Demers has scored in five straight games, which ties the longest streak on the team. In all games, he leads the team with nine points (2-7-9) in six games.

    He is the third Falcon to earn weekly league honors this season, joining Cole Gunner and Jason Torf.

    Air Force (4-2 overall and 2-0 AHA) plays a pair of conference games on the road this weekend as the Falcons play at RIT on Friday, Nov. 1 and at Mercyhurst, Nov. 2. --30--
