Eight Falcons earn Atlantic Hockey All-Academic honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Eight Air Force Falcons were named to the Atlantic Hockey Association all-academic team as announced by the league office.
Stephen Caple, Scott Mathis and Paul Weisgarber (from the class of 2012) have made the all-academic team three straight years. Rising juniors Casey Kleisinger and Adam McKenzie made the team for the second straight year. Rising senior Stephen Carew, rising junior Ryan Timar and rising sophomore Ben Persian all made the team for the first time.
Caple carried a 3.44 cumulative grade point average in civil engineering, Mathis carried a 3.44 gpa in management and Weisgarber carried a 3.69 gpa (including a perfect 4.0 in the spring of his senior year) as a management major. Kleisinger has a 3.36 gpa in management, McKenzie has a 3.86 gpa in aeronautical engineering, Carew has a 3.09 gpa in management, Timar has a 3.07 gpa in biology and Persian has a 3.54 gpa with an undeclared major.
To qualify for the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team an individual must post a 3.0 grade point average or higher in all of the academic periods during which his team was actively competing.
