Former Air Force hockey standout Derrick Burnett has been named to the U.S. National Inline Team for the upcoming 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation Inline Hockey World Championship, to be held June 1-7, in Pardubice, Czech Republic, as announced today by USA Hockey.
Burnett, a 2011 Academy graduate, helped lead Air Force to three conference tournament championships and three NCAA appearances from 2008-11. An assistant captain as a senior, Burnett (Corona, Calif.) played in 149 career games at forward and scored 118 points on 33 goals and 85 assists. Burnett's 118 career points rank 30th in Air Force history. As a senior, he was second on the team with 35 points and led the team with 27 assists.
