Lamoureux named AHA Player of the Week

    AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force Academy senior Jacques Lamoureux was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Week as he scored four goals and had one assist to help lead Air Force to a tie and a win against Canisius, Jan. 28-29.

    The forward from Grand Forks, N.D., had two goals and one assist in the 4-4 tie on Friday. Then in Saturday's 3-2 win, he had two goals, including the game-winner. In the series, he factored in on five of Air Force seven goals. Lamoureux broke the school record for career power play goals on Friday as he scored two vs. Canisius. His three power play goals on the weekend give him 36 for his career, breaking the previous mark of 34 set by John Decker (1992-95). Lamoureux also extended his school record with his 16th career game-winner on Saturday. He has scored at least one point in nine of the last 11 games. In the last 11 games, has 17 points (10-7-17).

    The AHA weekly honor is the second for Lamoureux this season and the sixth of his career. It is the sixth weekly honor earned by Air Force this season.

    Air Force, 11-9-5 overall and 9-5-5 and fourth place in the AHA, travels to league-leading RIT for a two-game series, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 4-5, at Ritter Arena in Rochester, N.Y.
