Falcons Receive USAG National Championship Rings

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Members of the 2012 Air Force men's gymnastics team received their USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship rings on Friday, Nov. 16, in an on-field ceremony during the first half of the Air Force-Hawaii football game at Falcon Stadium.

    It is the third straight year that the Falcons have claimed national championship rings, as Air Force has won the USAG team titles during the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.

    On hand to receive their rings from Air Force Director of Athletics, Dr. Hans Mueh, were head coach Kip Simons, assistant coach Jeff Robinson, former assistant coach Chuck Schweiss, 2012 team captain 2Lt Devin Menefee and gymnasts Skyler Awisus, Kyle Baker, Tory Brown, Gared Chapman, Greg Chaput, Patrick Duffy, Nick Gaudlip, Tyler Huebner, Alex Jessop, James Okamoto, Corbin Palmer, Josh Ramos, Mac Ritchie, Niko Schwab, Jon Spiro and Ben Zaiser.

    Special recognition was also made to Ramos (parallel bars), Ritchie (high bar) and Zaiser (vault) for their individual USAG championship titles.

    Air Force's quest for its fourth consecutive USAG national title begins on Saturday, Jan. 12, when the Falcons will host the 32nd-annual Rocky Mountain Open at the Academy's Cadet West Gym.
