Falcons Receive Votes in Preseason Coaches' Poll

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force men's gymnastics team received votes in the annual GymInfo Preseason Coaches' Poll that was released on Nov. 5. The Falcons, who are under the direction of third-year head coach Kip Simons, are coming off of one of their best seasons and welcome a class of seven newcomers to the rotation.

     

    Twelve of the Falcons' known opponents are also either ranked or receiving votes. The group is led by MPSF foe Stanford, who is the preseason favorite, earning eight first-place votes. Conference opponents Oklahoma (third, with two first-place votes) and California (fifth) are also ranked amongst the top five.

     

    Fans can get their first glimpse of the 2008 Air Force squad on Friday, Dec. 7, when the Falcons compete in the Silver and Blue Intrasquad Meet at 5 p.m. Air Force officially opens its season on Friday, Jan. 11, when it hosts the annual Rocky Mountain Open.
