The men's team qualified eight individuals (Jeff Andersen, Julian Benton, Mike Berry, Bill Hermann, team captain Aaron Jackson, Pat McAndrew, Brian Moore and Kent Reichle) to the NCAA Championships, including two in the all-around (Jackson and Andersen). Andersen (FX) and Jackson (V) were the first two Air Force gymnasts to advance to the second day of competition under the new NCAA format. Jackson was named winner of the Academy's Athletic Excellence Award and Most Valuable Gymnast Award.

The team finished second at the All-Academy Championships and defeated Navy both times they competed. The team also finished third at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships and Jackson was named Outstanding Senior Gymnast. He also earned USAG All-American honors in all-around, floor exercise, rings, vault and parallel bars. Andersen won USAG All-American honors in all-around, rings, vault and parallel bars. 2003 graduate and Second Lieutenant Bill Hermann is attending graduate school in meteorology at Texas A&M University. Second Lt. Aaron Jackson married his high school sweetheart (Beth Larsen) following graduation and is coaching AFA gymnastics and completing his introductory flight training before heading to Sheppard AFB, TX in January for undergraduate pilot training. We have seven new faces in the gym: Kurt Antonio (NM), Edwin Berry (CA), Josh Loeser (TX), Mark McNaughton (MA), Ryan Powell (CA), Ryan Stromstad (CA) and Kyle Volpe (CO). This gives us a total of 18 gymnasts training to be the best AFA team in history, including five seniors, three juniors, three sophomores and seven freshmen. All returning gymnasts have earned at least one varsity letter. Our schedule and roster are below. We hope to see you at all of our meets!
