USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Highlighted by five home competitions, including the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, the Air Force men's gymnastics team and head coach Kip Simons announced the squad's schedule for the upcoming season this afternoon.
The Falcons open the 2015 campaign on Jan. 17, when they debut the newly renovated Cadet West Gym with the 34th-annual Rocky Mountain Open. Air Force will travel to Minnesota on Jan. 24, before returning to the Academy to host service academy rival Army on Feb. 1.
Air Force will face the Black Knights for the second time in as many weeks on Feb. 7, as the two academies join Navy in Houston, Texas, for the annual All-Academy Championships. Following a break for the Winter Cup Challenge on Feb. 19-21, the Falcons return to team competition and close out the regular season with dual meets at Illinois-Chicago (Feb. 28), against Washington at the Academy (March 7) and at Arizona State (March 13).
The Falcons, who have won the last five USAG national team titles, will open the championship season on March 20, when they host the two-day USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships at the Academy. Air Force will also host the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on March 28, before closing out the season at the NCAA Championships in Norman, Okla., on April 9-11.
The preseason Blue-Silver Scrimmage will be held on Dec. 6 at 2:00 p.m.
