USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- Highlighted by four competitions at the Academy's Cadet West Gym, including the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, the Air Force men's gymnastics team and head coach Jeff Robinson announced the squad's schedule for the upcoming season this afternoon.
Air Force kicks off the 2018 campaign on Saturday, Jan. 13, when it hosts the Rocky Mountain Open for the 37th consecutive year. The Falcons will then travel to Army West Point (Jan. 26) and Springfield (Jan. 28), before returning to the Academy to host Minnesota on Saturday, Feb. 3.
The Falcons will head to San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 10, to face service academy rivals Army West Point and Navy at the annual All-Academy Championships, while select gymnasts will travel to Las Vegas for the prestigious Winter Cup Challenge on Feb. 15-17. Air Force will compete at the Arnold Challenge in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, March 3, before closing out the regular season at triangular meets on March 9 (at Illinois, with Illinois-Chicago) and March 11 (at Iowa, with Minnesota).
The postseason begins at the Academy on Friday, March 30, when Air Force, winners of the last eight USAG team titles, hosts the two-day USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. The Falcons will also host the MPSF Championships on Saturday, April 7, while the 2018 season comes to a close at the NCAA Men's Gymnastics National Championships in Chicago on April 20-21.
