Five Falcons Earn MPSF Academic All-Conference Selections

    C1Cs (Sr.) James Hayes and Scott Lewis and C2Cs (Jr.) William Hermann, Aaron Jackson and Justin Jones were named Academic All- Mountain Pacific Sports Federation scholar-athletes for the 2002 MPSF men's gymnastics season.

    U.S.A.F.A., Colo.- C1Cs (Sr.) James Hayes and Scott Lewis and C2Cs (Jr.) William A. Hermann, Aaron Jackson and Justin Jones were named Academic All- Mountain Pacific Sports Federation scholar-athletes for the 2002 MPSF men's gymnastics season. The student-athletes have been nominated for this award on the basis of the following criteria:

    1. 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

    2. Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received and must be at least a sophomore academically.

    3. Student-athlete must have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in the student-athlete's respective sport.

    Hayes, of Springfield, VA, maintained a 3.59 GPA and will graduate as an electrical engineering major later this month. Lewis, of Dix Hills, NY, maintained a 3.72 GPA and will graduate as a computer engineering major. Hermann, of Farmer's Branch, TX, currently has a 3.09 GPA and is majoring in mechanical engineering. Jackson, of Bedford, TX, has a 3.40 GPA in behavioral science. Jones, of Roswell, GA, currently has a 3.35 GPA and is also a behavioral science major.

    Air Force finished the regular season 2-15. The Falcons took fifth at the MPSF Men's Gymnastics Championships and sent five gymnasts to the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships in Norman, Okla., hosted by the Univ. of Oklahoma.
